Petaling Jaya, 5 July 2010 - Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd ("Honda Malaysia" or the "Company") today reported its highest monthly sales ever at 4,250 units in June, 34% higher compare to June last year. As Honda concludes its sales performance for the first half of 2010, the total sales stand at 22,142 units, only 45% away from its annual target of 40,000 units.
"Sales figures are not merely a number, but also a reading to gauge our market acceptance. And we are pleased to know that Honda has become a well accepted brand for its credibility and reliability. Thanks to our loyal and supportive customers, we are able to announce yet another cheerful month," said Mr. Toru Takahashi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.
He further added that, "We will assure our customers that even with the increased production, we will continue to place our customers' interest above everything else. Striving for Customer Satisfaction No. 1 is a commitment we make to our customers."
The vibrant sales is led by a strong demand for the 3rd Generation City, the best-in-class midsize sedan that offers practicality, performance and style, all in one package. Well known for its unbeatable fuel efficiency, City has contributed a whooping 37%, 1,563 units in June. Since its launch in December 2008, it has sold close to 30,000 units.
Other models including the facelifted CR-V has sold 629 units, while Accord and Civic have sold 857 units and 870 units respectively. Each contributed 15%, 20% and 20% respectively to June's sales.
Launched on 22 April, the All-New Freed has sold 361 units. The All-New Freed is a premium compact multipurpose vehicle that created a brand new segment in the local automobile industry.

Amid the market recovery, Honda Malaysia has had a great kick start to 2010. In the second half of 2010, Honda Malaysia expects to present the market with more worthy excitements, which include the introduction of a new variant of Civic this month.
