Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. started the new year of 2007 with a bash to celebrate the media in Malaysia on 31 January 2007 at Modesto's Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur.
The event was specially organised by Honda to fete the media and to appreciate the support rendered by the media fraternity towards Honda throughout the year. The Media Gathering was also an opportunity for the Honda management to catch up with their media friends and to be acquainted with those whom they were meeting for the first time.
True to the spirit of Honda, throughout the planning of the event, Honda challenged themselves to make it a Gathering that is memorable. The event was planned and designed with the media in mind, to ensure that the media experience the appreciation and hospitality of Honda Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia also presented a special video to acquaint the media with Honda and to share a summary of activities in 2006 as well as some of the plans for 2007.
The media was entertained by a young, talented and renowned violinist, Joanne Yeoh at the event. The multi-award violinist extraordinaire played some popular songs such as Simply the Best by Tina Turner, Getaran Jiwa by P. Ramlee and Symphony No. 40. Joanne wowed the audience with her playing and even more so when she went to the floor and played amongst the audience.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Yasuhide Mizuno said, "Since the company's foundation, every step taken by Honda has been propelled by the power of dreams. Our business at Honda is turning dreams into reality. How is this done you might ask? We do this by offering products; technologies and services that contribute to society and improve people's lives. Driven by this belief and the motivation to become a company that society wants to exist here in Malaysia, we have lined up many exciting activities for 2007 and beyond."
"I want to sincerely thank the media for their presence and support at the Media Gathering tonight. Without the support from the media fraternity, Honda Malaysia would not be where we are today. And together with you, we look forward to achieving even more this year!" added Mr Mizuno.
Asrul Azam from Traffic magazine said, "The timing for this event is excellent as it is the eve of a public holiday. The management team and their PR combined make an excellent media practice in all aspects."
Another media, Ms Tay Hui Beng from International Times added, "The event was very well planned. We experienced Honda's hospitality all round, from the personal delivery of the invitation to the F&B arrangement and the greetings from the Honda team."
Chips from MotorTrader commented, "This Media Gathering is a good idea, do some more! And very good planning on the parking, my compliments to Honda for your thoughtfulness. I find that Honda is more willing to mix with the media."
The night culminated when the media were presented with a grand finale to the event.
